To the Worshipful Master, Wardens
and Brethren of Amand Lodge No. 250

We the undersigned committee heretofore appointed by you to draft and present for your consideration resolutions upon the death of our late Brother, Moses D. Pinson, beg leave to submit the following.

Brother Moses D. Pinson was born in September, 1825 in Kemper County Mississippi, and when at a very tender age he removed to this County, then a portion of Autauga, and continued to reside here until his death.  At an early age Brother Pinson became a member of the Baptist Church, and at the time of his death he was a member of Mountain Creek Baptist Church.  During these long years Brother Pinson lived the life of a consistent Christian, an honorable man and a good citizen.

In 1852 Brother Pinson was married to Miss Mary E. Jones and lived to rear a large family.  Brother Pinson gave several years of the best part of his life to the cause of his country. His record while a soldier in the Confederate service, like the remainder of his life, was honorable and without blemish.

Brother Pinson was a Mason of more than ordinary ability, and he leaves behind him a long record of Masonic charity, of noble acts and duties well performed.  Brother Pinson was Initiated in Amand Lodge No. 250 November 28th, 1863, Passed December 26th, 1863 and Raised to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason January 25th, 1864.  Brother Pinson received the highest honor within the gift of his Brethren, he was elected Worshipful Master, and for more than twenty years he lived to enjoy the distinction and honors of a Past Master.  For more than forty seven years, as an active and working Mason, he enjoyed the confidence and respect of his brethren.

In recent years Brother Pinson resided with his son Bro. Thos. J. Pinson at Mountain Creek, and at whose home Brother Moses D. Pinson departed this life July 12th, 1912, leaving surviving him his widow, his two daughters Mrs. W. A. Howard, Mrs. C.G. Glenn and his sons T.J., P.J., M.M., J.D., M.A., and P.C. Pinson.

On July 13th, 1912 the mortal remains of our beloved and deceased brother was laid to rest in Chestnutt Cemetery at Cooper with full Masonic honors.

Therefore be it resolved that in the death of Brother Moses D. Pinson that his family have lost a kind, affectionate and loving husband and father, this Lodge has lost an honored member whose memory we will ever cherish, his church has lost a consistent member and the State has lost a citizen whose life we would do well to emulate.

Be it further resolved that we extend to the bereaved relatives of our deceased brother our heartfelt sympathy in this hour of irreparable loss.

Be it further resolved, that a page of the minutes of our Lodge be set apart and these resolutions and preamble inscribed thereon, and that a copy thereof, under seal of this Lodge, be prepared and presented to the widow of our deceased brother.

Respectfully submitted.
